Someone drafted that late in Round 2 is not someone you are counting on to be on the team 5 years later, not even 3 years later.

Lakers drafting Bronny at 55 is like the Dodgers drafting Piazza in the 62nd round - done as a favor to Lasorda. Not saying Bronny will be a HOFer, but at 55 he is worth a shot, also keeping in mind 2nd round picks don't get a long-term guaranteed contract.

If they took him at 35 I can see it being an issue, you can still find talent at that spot, but look at my above list of guys taken at 55, it's a who's who of garbage. I have a hard time believing the Lakers are so focused on getting LeBron's kid that they'll stop trying to compete for a title, they can do both things, allow LeBron to play with his kid while also trying to assemble a championship roster, one thing has nothing to do with the other, and it's not like Bronny would be taking away playing time from a more deserving player, the kid would play in end game blowouts, he's not going to be on the floor in important minutes, and let's be honest, the Lakers are far from a championship team, they're really not close, an aging LeBron and an always hurt AD isn't cutting down the nets, on paper they're maybe the 8th best team in the West, that's not winning you a championship

No, I don't watch to see new things, I go to the circus for that. I watch to see the best players in the world compete.
