I noticed the two kids sitting in front of me had their DK apps open, one was making bets every play. I took some pictures of his screen to see what he was betting on.

He was firing off live bets on what the play would be, or who would get the receptions, etc, at a $1,000 a pop.

He was working with about $25,000 of balance in his account. All game long. They couldn't have been more than 23 years old.

December 15, 1986 was a Monday night game. 38 years ago, I was on hand at the Pontiac Silverdome for the showdown between Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. The significance of the game was it was the first NFL starts for both QB's, Doug Flutie of the Bears and the savior of the Lions, Chuck Long, the standout QB from Iowa.

Back then, MNF started at 9pm. Final score was Bears 16 Lions 13.

It was a sell out, and the local blackout that was imposed in those days was lifted, which was always big in itself. The 80,000 silverdome was hardly ever sold out, so most of our games back then were blacked out.

My banner was shown on TV, "The Long Road to the Super Bowl begins tonight", little did I know at the time, 38 years later, I'm still waiting. It's been a much longer road than I ever dreamed sitting there at that particular game. The Silverdome was a miserable place to get in and out. We parked at was packed. By the the game was over, it was past 12.30am, we didn't get home until past 3am.

Lions were poised to plow through the regular season and plunder into the playoffs. Now? They are going to have to go Game of Thrones without the Dragons.

Is it the Joey Bad Boy curse? Can't prove it. But Lions vs Bills would have been on a Cwissy collision course. Hopefully it still is. Gibbs needs to carry the full load at RB.

That was the only NFL game I ever went to.

I hate to post it but right now Vikings are better than Lions but that's ok. Lions just have to beat Bears and 49ers to send the Vikings tumbling to the 5th seed.

This is what Lions have to do.

Beat Bears and San Fag and Eagles lose to Redskins or Boys. That clinches everything. Vikings do not matter. Basically 3 weeks rest for NFC divisional game. Play fucking Grag Landry at quarterback week 18. 3 weeks to get houthis healthy and ready to roll.

Montgomery loss may end up being plus EV if Gibbs goes Bill Sims. That is, 1980 type running back that does everything himself. He has a chance to step up. Crossing fingers but offense is still intact. It's the defense in shambles.

But can Gibbs handle the heavier workload?

No, I didn't bet Montgomery's prop, but I did bet Dak Over 9.5 interceptions, considering he had 8 when he got hurt, safe to say it would have been a winner

I just think the Lions are still better than the Vikes…will take my chances with Goff over Darnold…we will see if week 18 means anything
Goff might be better than Darnold, but I'll take the Vikings D over the mash unit defense of Detroit, would be cool if it all comes down to the final game
