Discussion and commentary-important tennis betting point
This is very important to emphasize in case you bet tennis:
Different books have differing rules when it comes to retiring during a match. Some will have the one completed set rule, others two sets, and still others the entire match must be completed.
In the case of the no action bet yesterday, Keothavong/Morita, one set was completed when Morita retired. If you bet at a one-set book Morita was a loss, if you bet a complete two sets book it was a refund/no action.
As a very general rule, you should be betting big favorites (especially if they are injury prone) at books where at least two sets or the entire match must be complete. When betting a bigger underdog, take the one set rule book. Obviously you should be aiming for the best price/line possible, but be careful in tennis especially in smaller tournaments or players who are injury-prone or coming off injury. Always check the injury reports as well to see if any players have lingering injuries that may cause a withdrawal.
In the case of the Morita bet, it was at a two-set book and therefore no action.
As for the day, I felt in a better rhythm and more confident in my bets and had a winning day. Any winning day is a good day and the losers that I had felt good about them.
We move onward.
