Another thing about the Guardians, they were 26-19 in one run games and 10-3 in extra innings last year, probably some regression

But the Guardians were 92-69 overall. 26-19 in one run games. So lets take out the 1 run games and they were 66-50; a .569 win percentage. If we apply that .569 expected win pct for the 45 one run games, we get about 25.6 wins and 19.4 losses. So they really didn't overperform in 1 run games.

I saw Sasaki's opener yesterday and immediately put a peanut on 50/1 to win CY.

I always worry about Jap pitchers 2nd half... nonetheless his splitter in unhittable.

Jose Altuve is moving to left field this year, a guy who's a HOFer is willing to play a position he's never played before in order to do what the team feels is best, the definition of a team guy. Then you have Devers who has hands of stone refusing to give up his position to a gold glover in order to do what's best for the team, the definition of a me first selfish player

Ended up adding KC Under 83 1/2 (JACK) for the reasons mentioned above.

Prop: Juan Soto UNDER 33 1/2 HRs (Bet MGM). 3 reasons; 1) moving from Yankee Stadium to Citi Field; 2) No Aaron Judge batting behind him; 3) he just got paid big.

Adding another HR prop:

Kyle Tucker UNDER 27 1/2 home runs (-108 JACK)

You move Devers to DH, what do you do with Yoshida? He's making 19 million a year for the next 3 years. He is also one of the Red Sox best hitters, average wise and on base percentage. You just bench the guy? That is not going to happen. Unless they can trade him, but I doubt anyone wants an oft injured 31 y/o DH for 20 million a year.

We know Bregman is very good defensively at 3B. But we have no idea how he will be at 2B. Which begs the question; for the money involved, why did they sign Bregman?

he started in the big leagues at 2nd...but it doesn't mean he could do it now. He played at 3rd yesterday

Seems like a lot of love for Washington. I see a little underperformance in 1 run games last year but offensively strongly overperformed with RISP. Maybe Crews is all that; he wasn’t in 2024 and it might take another year or so. But that staff looks like trash. They are going to have to out score teams. Lowe a nice addition but the others are meh. Josh Bell hasn’t been a factor since he left the Pirates. What am I missing?

I don't know what they do with Yoshida, I'm sure they would figure it out. All I know is they have two third baseman, one is a gold glover, and let's just say the other isn't, to me it's an easy decision. Where the Sox fucked up was apparently they didn't discuss this with Devers before the trade, maybe had they talked to him about moving off third things would have gone smoother than they have, maybe Devers didn't like being blindsided by the trade, I don't follow the Sox so I don't know how it all went down, all I know is their defense is better with Bregman at third

St Louis at 12/1 to win the NL Central? That seems overly bearish. This isn’t a strong division.
I don’t think they have anything in the minors plus they want to trim payroll. Ticket sales are way down, a lot of fan apathy I haven’t seen in a long time there. They need a strong start, or they are selling.

Yoshida is going to DH most of the time. Once all the injuries start happening, this will all work itself out. If Campbell comes up, he can play some outfield. This is overblown, buts that’s par for the course.

I was hoping to find an 87 to bet Texas under. But I think I missed it. Are they counting on DeGrom to be ace? 9 starts since 2022. Another injury returnee, Tyler Mahle is supposed to be a key rotation piece. The Rangers were a great story two years ago. But they look to me like a lot of these one (title) and done.

But Here is The Biggest Reason Why They Signed Bregman.

Bregman's insane Fenway Park stats prove he's a great fit for Red Sox

Bregman has made 98 plate appearances in 21 games at Fenway over nine MLB seasons. Here are his stats in those 21 games:

.375 batting average (30 for 80), seven home runs, nine doubles, 15 RBI, .750 slugging percentage, 1.240 OPS

Not only is Bregman a better hitter at Fenway than any other ballpark where he’s played more than six games, but he also has some of the best numbers of all time in Boston.

NYY Under 92.5 Bad news regarding Cole

I haven't looked but this has had to have moved pretty good with not only Cole but Stanton, Gill out to start the season.

I keep reading about Warren, pitcher in SP training who looks like a decent fill in until everyone is healthy.

I have four outs, one took it off the board, one had it 91.5 the other two had 92.5, I know it opened 93.5

Do books give a refund on Cole or are bettors screwed?
I'm fucked, no refund for me. The worst thing some books ever did was to start giving refunds on player props, now every time something like this happens people demand refunds, and get upset when they don't get it. Typically I don't bet player props over until closer to the season due to the injury factor, but at +1600 I couldn't pass up those odds
