I'm a little late, played it Over 8 -105, was surprised it opened 7.5Cubs/San Diego Over 7 1/2
This is a rematch from April 4 between Imanaga and Randy Vasquez. Vasquez has a bit of a phony ERA so far, with an expected WOBA of .397. He's also walked twice as many hitters as he's struck out. In the April 4 game, it was brutal hitting conditions at Wrigley; 44 degrees and the wind blowing in at 10 mph. While not a velocity guy, Imanaga has had a 2 mph velocity dip in his last two starts. In the April 4 game, he was likely aided by bad hitting conditions. In his subsequent start, he was hit hard by Texas. Both teams are capable offensively and the Cubs pen had a major implosion Monday night. Only 11 days since the original matchup so the hitters should be well prepared.
Good news for my Mervis future, the Marlins just DFA'd Jonah Bride, coming into the season he was expected to platoon at first base with Mervis, but Mervis has looked so good it appears he'll be the every day first baseman going forward, at least I hope that's the plan. FTR, I have him +5000The kid has looked pretty good so far, of course way too early to project over a full season, but he's hitting with power. If this year's version of Mervis is the same guy the Cubs thought so highly of at one point, my ROY future could be live
And catcher Kelly left the game after getting hit on the hand by a Glasnow fastball. Lots of little bones in the hand.....never a good place for an MLB player to get hurt.
Having said that, a 16-0 win over the Dodgers in LA on Saturday and now 2 straight wins over the LAD.
PCA looks like the real deal. Fastest player in MLB.
This gets weirder. The Bet US podcast mentioned not only did both have the same bday, but both entered today with the same batting average and OPS.As if having two Max Muncy's wasn't odd enough, they share the same birthday, Aug 25th

I know it's early but has a division like the NL West ever had 4 teams that could win it?
The guys got huge talent and a great attitude, but the best thing about him is he likes to play baseball, he wants no rest, no days off for the simple reason that he enjoys playing.Last night I saw Ohtani hit a ball to right field that almost let the stadium. I'm convinced he's not human, I think he's an AI generated cyborg created in a lab by some mad scientist
Ohtani is a throwback, I think his work ethic is due to him being Japanese, I know the Japanese players attitude toward the game is very different than players from other countries, Ichiro was the same wayThe guys got huge talent and a great attitude, but the best thing about him is he likes to play baseball, he wants no rest, no days off for the simple reason that he enjoys playing.
Very, very rare in today's game. barring injury I bet he plays 158 games.
He is arguably the best athlete in my lifetime. I’m 62 so that’s going back awhile.Ohtani is a throwback, I think his work ethic is due to him being Japanese, I know the Japanese players attitude toward the game is very different than players from other countries, Ichiro was the same way
I know this topic has been brought up before, but if we're talking pure athleticism, I probably have to go with Bo JacksonHe is arguably the best athlete in my lifetime. I’m 62 so that’s going back awhile.

Just the other day I saw some clips of Jackie playing football at UCLA, he was returning punts, I'm not kidding when I say he looked like Barry Sanders, no one could lay a hand on him, weaving in and out, cutting, I never knew he played football, had he chosen that sport there's no doubt he would have excelled at itI get it. And one can use Deion Sanders as well. Honorable mention to Brian Jordan and Charley Ward, who I hear is the new FAU bball coach. Jackie Robinson was supposed to have been a very good football player as well.
Yeah, he's hitting like a fish out of water. If I bet on the Angels it'll be just for the halibut.Trout looks like he's looking long ball every at bat.
Currently 3 for 34.
Took a little longer than I expected, but McKenzie was DFA’d.The 8th inning of Cleveland/Baltimore was not an easy watch. You had Tristan McKenzie just implode; numerous pitches to the backstop, several walks, a HR. Then two players get hurt; Arias is spiked and Martinez gets hurt crashing into the wall after making a catch. They will have a short roster tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if McKenzie would be released.
Before his injury I thought he had a chance to be really good, in 2022 he had 30 starts and pitched to a 2.96 ERA, I wouldn't mind if the Reds or Marlins picked him up, surprised the Guardians have given up on him, only 27Took a little longer than I expected, but McKenzie was DFA’d.
Anyone have a price on PCA to win NL MVP?

Trouts a career .300 hitter, MVP candidate, etc who's going downhill fast. Always hurt with weird injuries, he got his giant contract and now he barely cares, very sad.
