Re: NJ sports book news
It's refreshing seeing Jersey doing this.

Understood.
But I've seen so many sports books in Nevada close before they should.
Terrible customer service.
South Point has the right idea by going 24 hours.

Question: When will these states offer mobile wagering like Nevada?

NJ sports betting: Monmouth Park alive with activity on Father's Day -

The lines were just as long at the sports betting kiosks just outside the William Hill Sports Bar They were also long at the pari-mutuel betting windows for the racing. The food lines were long too, especially at Max's Hot Dogs in the left corner of the grandstand area and the picnic area was also packed.
The attendance of 23,768 was 5,241 larger than the 18,527 that attended on Father's Day last year.
The handle figures were up all around, too.
The total handle of $4,863,502 was $742,314 more than last year's total of $4,121,188.
The on-track handle of $973,402 was $142,672 more than last year's total of $830,730 and the off track handle of $3,890,100 was $599,642 larger than last year.
Thanks for sharing, Squarepants.
The brick and mortar outlets will attempt to push everyone to the mobile app.
That's the strategy of CGT in Las Vegas.
If, as I suggest in post #87, the Wire Act does not prohibit sports bets being placed from NV to NJ, and vice versa, would be interesting to see them set up mobile apps where you could bet in either state -- on previously set up accounts -- so long as you were in either state at the time of the bet. Potentially bigger handle and more balanced two-way action.
Do that across multiple legal states, and you start getting toward a national, almost-online-like, market.
Monkey, my discussion was against the backdrop of Purdum's article postulating that they might shade the lines differently based on location. If they ultimately don't do that, then, yes, it doesn't matter. It'sperhaps a little early to pound the table as to how things actually will shake out. I was exploring his premise. If they do shade lines based on location, bettors are going to look for ways to get bets down in multiple jurisdictions, which as I suggest would tend to hammer out the variances by giving rise to more two-way action.
That has very little chance of happening. That would require a massive infrastructure change.
Currently just Pro sports offered, right?
Would love to see them post Coll Football + Coll Basketball. But I guess that would open the pandora's box of shaving points.
"Pro only" currently applies to only to Delaware.

Spot on. People want 100% security & less hoops . .
good report, i was supposed to go today but kid is sickStopped in yesterday afternoon, was quiet, a total of 20 people in the book, no lines, 6 tellers open maybe 7, was in and out. Boards are good. Parking not an issue
Teller wasn't the quickest. Made 3 bets, just had to wait about 15-20 seconds for approval from the system, not a person teller told me before he handed me the tix, which he did. Went 2-1 (Lost under 7 Red sox)
No complaints so far with anything I saw an did yesterday, nice job NJ!!
