Re: EOG has gone totally downhiill, my post on RAS .............
I cashed out over two years ago with a near 8 figure return over 15 years, I think that is more than enough to make me think I know what I am talking about. I also think my timing was perfect since that was really when sports betting started to shit the bed in a bad way. A lot of books had already been out of the US market for a couple years then too, but that didnt stop anyone with a brain from having an account with them. But that still made it hard to do really well those last couple years.
But to offer full disclosure some of the money was made from things I moved that werent directly related to gambling but were obtained with gambling winnings. So I suppose if I were BW and rainbow were testifying for me it would still count. So while it isnt 2 decades it was a decade and a half. So maybe I got lucky too.
Obviously some people will doubt it but a couple guys who used to pride themselves on being accountants somehow got my info at a couple books and they verified some of the stuff I did. But that was about 6-7 years ago so it was dated material, but still right about the peak of the good times. Also a few old school guys saw my house down in Newport Beach before I sold it (one of the acquisitions and sales I mentioned) so there were a few people who saw it. But like I say only believe half what you see. The greatest irony is the guys who think good information and the reality of people winning a lot of money is very possible are also the ones who will shout the loudest winning that much isnt possible. Which once again shows how completely clueless they are.
But I got out and never looked back. I just come on these sites to see the same shills and half wits preaching the same old story. And not a dime richer for it. But it makes for good entertainment nonetheless.
But there are talkers and there are doers. I did it. i didnt have to talk about it. Dont mind so much now since I am not doing it anymore although I have screwed around and scalped almost 20K in baseball, and that is just betting overnight lines with sad limits. So even pretending I make more than most guys who claim to be sharp. I just never felt the need to tout myself or my plays. or felt the need to throw plays around. I gave advice and gave insight into things I knew about people or what I thought of certain theories or strategies. I left the posting of plays to all the experts.
Although I did post plays at Covers for awhile in 2000-2001 but more to help those guys out than anything else. And it was Covers so what was the harm really?
So now I started my next series of conquests and have little time to fool around on the net. But I am basically retired at 43 and have other people do the work I need done. No stress, no worries, no negative things at all going on. Sit on the porch and feed the birds go pick an avocado or two off the tree or some oranges. Take a nap at 2 in the afternoon and call it a day.
That is really what people should look forward to. Because IMO the definition of 'success' is what you HAVE to do in order to survive, so the less you do the more of a success you have been. But that might just be my own self serving definition I am not sure. I thought I was semi successful when I was gambling and not doing all that much. But now that I dont even do that I realize I do a lot less now.
OK end of the self glossing, just saying it to make a point. That despite all the bullshit that gets thrown around and all the fairy tales people try to tell about the old school sharp insider type wise guys, making money from the mid/late 90s until a couple years ago was a very easy thing to do, as long as you had a brain and some money, and a little (lot)discipline. And actually staying away from the corrupt scumbags who claimed to be insiders was probably your best course of action. the internet was both a blessing and a curse to sports betting, it just depended on how you utilized it.
Anyway the few guys who have PMed me feel free to ask questions/opinions. I will post when I see something interesting or feel I can help stir the pot a little bit. Because lets face it it does get a little boring sometimes. Maybe I will get a dog....
